The NEC in Birmingham will play host to Packaging Innovations 2016, along with Empack Birmingham 2016 and Label & Print Birmingham 2016, on the 24th and 25th of February.
The Packaging Innovations show aims to bring together members of the packaging industry and highlight new innovations, approaches, technologies and trends.
The event will also incorporate the Ecopack show, looking at sustainable practices and sustainability in general, whilst Contract Pack will offer contract packers and those involved in manufacturing a chance to promote their services.
The event is free to attend. Interested parties should register online to get a link to an admission voucher.
Last year, almost 7,000 people visited the show, marking a ten per cent increase in attendance. Event director Gerry Sherwood, of Easyfairs’ UK Packaging Portfolio, said the rise in numbers demonstrated the need for buyers to have an ‘ideal shop window’ in order to view packaging’s future.
A raft of global brands will be exhibiting in all areas of the show. Label & Print, for example, is being supported by leading suppliers such as Epson, Hewlett Packard, Durst Phototechnik, Dantex Graphics, Etiq-Etains and Xeikon.
The event looks set to attract personnel from a wide range of industry sectors, including pharmaceuticals, FMCG, personal care, chemicals, DIY, leisure and household.
Innovation will form a key part of the shows, with many exhibitors planning to use the event as a launchpad for new services and products. Dantex Graphics, for example, will be at Label & Print showing off a new PicoColour digital press.
The combination of Label & Print, Packaging and Innovations and Empack aims to bring together the complete packaging spectrum. The event will also feature a practical Learnshops programme, where some of the hottest trends and issues in the industry will be put under the spotlight.
For those people unable to make the Birmingham event, there is another opportunity to network and learn more about what is happening at the cutting edge of the industry at Packaging Innovations London 2016.
The event will be held at London’s Olympia on September 14 and 15 and is specifically focussed on inspirational and branded packaging. The Luxury Packaging 2016 show will also take place at the same time at the venue.
More than 4,000 people attended the event in 2015, marking six years of growth. The number of people showing an interest in the luxury packaging aspect went up by 134 per cent on the previous year, and organisers claimed that three-quarters of exhibitors from 2015 almost immediately rebooked to attend in 2016.
