The countdown has started to the Packaging Innovations 2015 show, which will be held at the NEC in Birmingham on February 25 and 26.
This is the perfect place to find out about the latest machinery and technology to emerge and to garner plenty of inspiration, whether you want to know which the best carton sealer to buy is or need tips on improving consumer engagement or shelf stand-out.
The show features dedicated Contract Pack and Ecopack areas, as well as Label & Print and Empack showcases, and will involve more than 350 exhibitors. There will be specialists from all areas of packaging industry, including those dealing with new technology, machinery, design and materials.
The show is not just about touring a variety of stands, either. There will be plenty of interactive features on offer, along with a free learnShops programme. The seminars will be packed full of useful information and thought-provoking content, and the show itself offers the ideal opportunity to discuss details with suppliers and feel and touch products that you may have only seen on the internet.
Innovation is the title but inspiration is the key, and the event aims to provide plenty of opportunities to set your imagination free and get those creative thoughts flowing. You can also witness some brave exhibitors pitching their products to a discerning panel of industry experts and buyers. Known as the Lions’ Lair, this offers a great opportunity to get to grips with the latest technology and practical packaging solutions. Last year’s Lions’ Lair winner was Sharp Iris and its Smartflow product, which allows retailers and brands to gain a direct connection with their consumers via personalised digitally printed packaging.
The 2014 learnShops seminar programme proved hugely popular, with speakers including the founder of Packaging Sense, Lars Wallentin, Sun Branding Solutions’ business unit director, Richard Rhodes, Ian Schofield, the own-label manager at Iceland Foods, and John Lewis’ packaging design and production manager for own-brand development, Mark Gallen.
The co-located Empack show is the place to head for if you’re looking for ideas to help you select machinery that can allow you to create the ideal packaging at the perfect price, whilst Label & Print 2015 will focus on the latest advances in labelling equipment, printing, flexo, intelligent packaging and offset.
This packaging fest offers the ideal opportunity to get out of the office for a while and gain valuable contacts and advice that could change your business forever.
